DRMA – Digital Radiographic Mensuration Analysis for AOMSI Ligament Anaylsis
Meeting Standards of Authorities For Injury Veracity
AOMSI (M53.2X1) is one of the highest rated injuries that occurs in a vehicle collision including at low speeds.
AOMSI is an Objective Medical Finding Based on Mathematical Modeling, a biomechanical analysis to evaluate motion and stability as opposed to pathology. It is accurate to within 0.01 mm and 0.01 degrees, compliant with A.M.A. Guides and Authorities using the procedure of “Diagnostic Radiographic Mensuration Analysis” (DRMA). It is the “Gold Standard” for determining stability but represented by CPT Code 76499.
Our software technology produces an Objective Impairment rating (DRMA) evaluating Alteration of Motion Segment Integrity (AOMSI). The report writing portion of the software correlates with the 5th or 6th Edition of the AMA Guidelines of permanent impairment and can be used with DMX, DICOM, or plain film X-rays that have been digitized. The printed, color report contains demonstrative color visuals to quantify a patient’s objective spinal biomechanical injury and impairment. Positive findings confirm ligament laxity (ICD-10).
Spinal Ligament injury is well documented to be one the most common injuries in a trauma. It is also well documented that, depending upon the grade (seriousness) of the injury, they can take up to 2 years to heal and have different treatment protocols. Yet it seems few doctors attempt to accurately grade the injury according to medical guidelines even where specific guidelines exist. The crude and varying methods to assess the injury provided little consensus. Precise accurate grading of spinal ligament injury can be best obtained by advanced digital methods for measuring x-rays, while conforming to current 5th and 6th edition AMA injury guidelines.
